Hello and welcome to the Thurrock & Basildon Multiple Sclerosis

This web site is dedicated to bring more information, mainly to the people of Thurrock and Basildon, on items related to Multiple Sclerosis and to this Branch of the Society.

As of January 1st 2007 the Thurrock and Basildon Branch merged. This website has been solely for Thurrock since 2001 and as such all the historic events are only about Thurrock. Hopefully in future we will be able to show events happening in the Basildon area. Additionally members from the old Basildon branch can forward information that can be included on this website. We also arrange different social events for our members using money from donations, and from our own collecting. We are prepared to review requests for grants and advise if this should be made to other agencies.

We have a day centre which meets every Monday and Wednesday at the 'The Beehive' in Grays from 10am until 3pm. We also hold a social get together fortnightly on a Friday evening 7pm until 9pm at the John Tallack Centre, Stifford Clays. Members from all areas covered by the new branch are welcome to join in. Any member who would like to start something similar in the area covered by the old Basildon branch should contact one of the committee members for advice.

We have information evenings to bring people up to date on information on MS and for newly diagnosed. We can offer assistance on the general management of MS, and give details on benefits and welfare rights and employment entitlements.

We are affiliated to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Great Britain and Northern Island, from whom we obtain advice both for living with MS, and the latest information on developments on this disease. For more information click on the link below.
